Fabulous opportunity to stay in a castle with very good views of the countryside. Staff were attentive and spoke English. Dinner was ok but breakfast was very good
We loved the experience of staying in an old castle. The breakfast was lovely. The bartender in the afternoon was excellent and I just wish I could remember his name. All the staff were very helpful.
I love the Castle and the food at the restaurant. The service at the bar and the restaurant is excellent. The room with a view is a plus.
Perfect as is!
The hotel is located as part of a castle way up on a mountain. Beautiful scenary.
The town is far from everything so you have to travel long distances to visit since there is nothing of interest to visit in the area.
Great location, wonderful views
The main problem was the fiesta in the town that went on until 6am every morning and made sleep impossible. We should have been warned that it was fiesta time and that noise could be a problem.
The view from hotel was spectacular and could not be bettered. The hotel felt very comfortable and the restaurant was very good too
The hotel could do with a car/minibus facility to and from the town
The dinning room was magnificant
The hotel has the great atmosphere of medieval. The view on the surroundings is great. The dinner and the breakfast at the hotel were up to the level.
Some rooms have view on the inner yard rather than on the surrounding mountains. The parking might be "congested" and the road to the hotel is not that clear unless you are using a gps.
The hotel was beautiful. The view from our room was spectacular and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the evening meal was delicious. A very special place.
A stunning building. The castle of Cardona has been sympathetically transformed into a luxury hotel with huge, well equipped rooms and tasteful decoration. Great views, pleasant areas to have a drink and a fantastic place to stay for a day or two.
The dinner in the restaurant was fine but not quite the high-class meal that you might expect for such a luxury setting (and luxury price). you didn't get the impression that the chef was particularly innovative or concerned about preparing real fresh ingredients but, having said that, if you're only staying one night you still have to eat there as part of the overall, very enjoyable experience.
The hotel itself was a very special place to stay at, the castle felt very genuine at the same time as it has been transformed into a comfortable hotel. Great breakfast with a local touch, with lots of interesting delicacies. The nearby communal pool with surrounding lawn was a nice place for a day in the sun.
There is really nothing much to see or do in the surroundings. Either spend time at the castle reading books and relax, or go to the communal pool. That about rounds it up.
The location is fantastic, and the ambience wonderful. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The starter at dinner was poor, but the rest of the meal fine.
Super position, helpful staff,Cardona town very pretty and friendly.Breakfast was very good and freshly cooked, unlike the evening meal (see below)
View of room on a vast open quarry, room rather tired decoration,Wifi didn't work unless you went to reception area, no extractor fan in the bathroom, evening meal below standard of a hotel of that type, microwaved and upset both our stomach's
The breakfast buffet was good, as it ought to be in this category.
Staff was arrogant and or too smoothie. Reception was slow and there was not enough parking space. Between hotel rooms the sound isolation was poor and the food service just average. It's not worth of that money we spend. Pity, it could be a great place!
The view is so beautiful and the hotel is so impressive. You may see it at the top of the hill. The room is clean, nice. We also had both dinner and breakfast there, very delicious!
One and half - two hrs driving from Barcelona. It's better to drive there.
